The Vaillant VRC700 wired system controller (part no. 0020236291) is a weather-compensating multi-zone controller that predates the senso aesthetic but remains in Vaillant's current range. It's the correct like-for-like replacement for existing VRC700 installations, compatible with the full current ecoTEC plus range and Vaillant heat pumps.

When to specify the VRC700 over sensoCOMFORT

For new installations, the sensoCOMFORT VRC720 is the current preferred controller. The VRC700 is specified primarily as a like-for-like service replacement on a system already wired and plumbed for it, or by specifiers who have standardised on the VRC700 across previous projects. Swapping to a sensoCOMFORT on a VRC700 system involves reconfiguring wiring centres — the VRC700 replacement avoids that entirely.
